How To Add Section To Assembly Drawing in Autodesk Advance Steel

Image
Autodesk Advance Steel is a 3D modeling software used for steel detailing and fabrication. Add Section To Assembly Drawing • To add a section to an assembly drawing, open the assembly drawing in Advance Steel and go to the "Drawing" tab. • Select "Section" from the ribbon at the top of the screen which will bring up a dialog box where you can choose your desired type of section. • Specify the section plane by clicking on points in or entering coordinates into this dialog box, then select objects for inclusion in your view. • Set line style, color and scale before previewing it; once satisfied with how it looks click “OK” to add it to your drawing area where you can adjust its position as needed. A Steel Takeoff Calculator

Image
A Steel Takeoff Calculator: We're excited to announce that we are working on a new tool to help you calculate the materials needed for your construction projects: the Steel Takeoff Calculator. Please note that this is a test version of the calculator, which means it's still a work in progress and we'll be making improvements and adding features in the future. It is not intended for use in a production environment, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy or reliability of the results. Use of the Steel Takeoff Calculator is at your own risk. Currently, the Steel Takeoff Calculator only supports three wide flange shapes: W8X18, W10X22, and W12X26. However, we plan to expand the available options in the future based on user feedback. Using the Steel Takeoff Calculator is easy: simply select the shape of the steel pieces you need from the dropdown menu, enter the length and quantity, and click "Calculate". The calculator will then compute the total weight and co...

Happy 2023 Year From a Steel Detailer That Loves His Job

Happy New Year! Happy New Year to all steel detailers, steel fabricators, general contractors, architects, engineers, industrial plants, food process plants, all clients and potential clients! As a steel detailer, I am excited to be a part of the process of creating detailed drawings of steel structures. It is fulfilling to see the final steel structure come to life, knowing that I played a role in making it happen. The process of detailing steel structures is a multi-faceted endeavor that involves a number of different phases, including the design phase, the detailing phase, the fabrication phase, and the erection phase. During the design phase, I work closely with the design team to develop the overall design of the steel structure. It is exhilarating to see the 3D model of the structure take shape using computer-aided design (CAD) software, and to determine the sizes, shapes, and locations of the various components. Once the design of the steel structure is complete,...

What is Steel Detailing?

Unlike car detailing, steel detailing has nothing to do with cleaning, though it can help the fabricator look "clean" on the job site! Steel detailing is a process of interpreting plans to detailed shop drawings. In complete shop drawing set each part is specified, the parts put together in assemblies and erected before it gets to the shop floor! It’s all done in 3D environment where you can see how parts fit together and how will they look after it’s built. Shop drawings are used to produce representation of steel members like columns, beams, ledgers, trusses, braces, embeds, stairs, ladders, handrails, joists, metal decking etc. These members are used in construction of buildings, bridges, industrial plants, and other steel structures.
